TERMS & CONDITIONS
D.A.R (Direct Airports Rides)
(Operated under Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Licensing Conditions)
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with D.A.R (Direct Airports Rides), a licensed Private Hire Operator.
1.2 By making a booking, the customer agrees to these Terms in full.
1.3 The company operates in accordance with:

- Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976
- Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Private Hire Licensing Conditions
- UK consumer protection and transport legislation
2. NATURE OF SERVICE
2.1 D.A.R (Direct Airports Rides) acts solely as a Private Hire Operator arranging transport between passengers and licensed private hire drivers.
2.2 The company does not directly provide transport services.
2.3 All journeys must be pre-booked and cannot be hailed from the street or taxi ranks.
2.4 Each booking forms a contract for the arrangement of transport services only.
3. DRIVER & VEHICLE STATUS
3.1 All drivers are self-employed licensed private hire drivers.
3.2 Drivers are not employees, agents, or partners of the operator.
3.3 All vehicles are licensed, insured, and regulated by the relevant authority.
3.4 Drivers must comply with all legal and licensing requirements at all times.
4. INSURANCE & LIABILITY
4.1 All vehicles carry valid private hire insurance.
4.2 In the event of an accident, claims must be made via the driver’s insurance provider.
4.3 The operator will assist by providing booking and driver information where reasonably required.
4.4 Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
5. BOOKINGS & FARE AGREEMENT
5.1 Booking Methods
Bookings may be made via:

- Telephone
- Website
- App
All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance.
5.2 Booking Information
Customers must provide accurate:

- Pickup time & date
- Pickup location
- Destination
- Contact details
- Special requirements
Incorrect information may result in delays, extra charges, or cancellation.
5.3 Booking Confirmation
A booking is only confirmed when:
- Accepted by D.A.R (Direct Airports Rides), and
- The customer agrees to the total quoted fare
5.4 Telephone Booking Surcharge
Bookings made via telephone will incur an additional 25% administration and handling surcharge applied to the total fare.
This reflects manual handling and operational processing costs.
The surcharge:
- Will be clearly stated before confirmation
- Must be accepted before booking is confirmed
- Forms part of the final agreed fare
5.5 Fare Adjustments
The final fare may be adjusted for:
- Waiting time
- Airport Chrages
- Parking or tolls
- Route changes requested by customer
- Additional stops or requirnments not declered at booking
5.6 Operator Rights
The operator may:
- Refuse any booking /li>
- Cancel for safety, legal, or operational reasons
- Subcontract journeys to licensed drivers
6. FARES & PAYMENTS
6.1 Fares are agreed at booking or calculated using agreed rates.
6.2 Payment methods include cash, card, or prepayment where applicable.
6.3 Payment must be made in full at completion unless otherwise agreed.
7. AIRPORT BOOKINGS
7.1 Flight numbers must be provided for all airport pickups.
7.2 A 50-minute free waiting period applies from the actual flight landing time.
7.3 After 50 minutes, a charge of £0.50 per minute applies until the passenger meets the driver.
7.4 The operator may adjust pickup times using flight tracking information.
7.5 Airport parking, drop-off charges, and waiting charges may be added to the final fare.
7.6 The operator is not responsible for airport-imposed charges or policy changes.
8. CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS
8.1 Cancellations should be made with reasonable notice.
8.2 If a driver has been dispatched, a cancellation fee may apply.
8.3 Failure to attend the pickup location within the waiting period will be classed as a no-show.
8.4 No-shows may be charged up to the full fare plus incurred costs.
9. PASSENGER CONDUCT
9.1 Passengers must behave respectfully at all times.
9.2 The driver/operator may refuse or end a journey if a passenger is:
• Abusive or violent
• Intoxicated to a dangerous level
• Unsafe or disruptive
• Engaged in illegal activity
• Damaging or contaminating the vehicle
10. SAFETY RULES
10.1 Seatbelts must be worn where legally required.
10.2 Smoking, vaping, and e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited.
10.3 Drivers may refuse carriage if unsafe or unlawful.
10.4 Child seats must be requested at booking.
11. DELAYS & FORCE MAJEURE
The operator is not responsible for delays caused by:
• Traffic
• Weather
• Road closures
• Accidents
• Events outside reasonable control
All times are estimates only.
12. LOST PROPERTY
12.1 Lost property will be recorded and stored where found.
12.2 Reasonable efforts will be made to return items.
12.3 A reasonable admin fee may apply.
13. DATA PROTECTION
13.1 Data is processed only for booking purposes.
13.2 The company complies with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
13.3 Data may be shared with drivers, insurers, or authorities when required by law.
14. COMPLAINTS
14.1 Complaints should be made as soon as possible.
14.2 Acknowledgement will be made within 48 hours.
14.3 Serious complaints may be escalated to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
15. LIABILITY
15.1 Liability is accepted for death or personal injury caused by negligence where required by law.
15.2 The operator is not liable for:
• Delays outside control
• Loss of personal belongings unless due to proven negligence
• Actions of independent drivers outside legal operator responsibility
16. AMENDMENTS
16.1 Terms may be updated due to legal or operational changes.
16.2 Continued use of the service confirms acceptance of updated Terms.
